Drift is built to respect your privacy. We collect as little data as possible, and your expense data stays under your control. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Drift does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or contacts. The data involved in using Drift is:

• Expense text process with AI. When you use Drift's AI features to interpret an expense, the text you enter (for example, an expense description) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. Drift does not send your full expense history, only the specific text needed for the feature you're using.
• Anonymous usage analytics, collected through TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used and improve it. TelemetryDeck is privacy-focused, does not store IP addresses, and does not use persistent cross-app identifiers.

Your expenses themselves are stored on your device. We do not operate a server that keeps a copy of your financial data.

2. How We Use This Information

We use this data only to operate the app: to power the AI features you actively choose to use, and to understand general usage patterns so we can improve Drift. We do not build user profiles, and we do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.

3. AI Processing with Google Gemini

When you use an AI feature, the relevant text is processed by Google's Gemini API. Drift uses Google's paid Gemini API tier, under which Google does not use your inputs or the responses to train its models, and data is retained only transiently for abuse monitoring. Google processes this data under its own terms.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data relating to you. Because Drift stores your expenses on your own device and we hold no identifiable data, this is in your hands, but you can contact us at any time and we will help where we can.
